Officials at the Champions Hockey League in Zug, Switzerland and the executive team at Pico announced a partnership for the upcoming 2019/20 European Ice Hockey season. Utilizing Pico’s personalized fan communication platform, fans around the globe, and specifically of the 32 teams that earned a spot at the CHL this season, will be introduced to new fan experiences both when attending games and when engaging from home.
After successfully piloting during this past season’s Semi-Finals and Final games, the CHL will be able to continue delivering higher value sponsorships to their corporate partners via Pico’s activations, while enhancing interactions with their fans and building valuable relationships that will drive attendance and event participation.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to help the CHL leverage our technology to drive more value for their fans and sponsors,” said Yaron Talpaz, Pico’s VP of Strategic Partnerships. “Working with a growing entity like the CHL is a great opportunity for us to showcase our technology. Our work together last season already gave us a glimpse into passionate and engaging fans, which is always the best way to start such a partnership.”
When asked what values in Pico’s offering stood out and helped drive the partnership, Monika Reinhard , Communication & Digital Media Director for the CHL pointed out, “The lifeblood of our sport is our fans. The fact that Pico’s technology will help us elevate their experience and enable us to present them with better and more targeted content and offerings was one of the great reasons we partnered.”
For Pico, this partnership represents the next step in a long standing commitment to growing their reach in professional sports, specifically in the European market. The company has been working with the NHL’s St. Louis Blues since 2017 and have since added more professional teams in the U.S. and European markets.
